Donny Hillier , vocalist for the band Trauma , the pre- Metallica of bassist Cliff Burton , passed away on Monday, the 28th, the band confirmed.
“It is with immeasurable sadness that Trauma shares the news that our brother Donny Hiller passed away yesterday, September 28, 2020, after a brief illness,” the post reads. “We are all deeply saddened and send our deepest condolences to Donny’s family and will respect their wish for privacy at this time. Donny was the voice of Trauma since the beginning of 1981 and it will be a difficult task to continue.”
The thrash metal band was formed in 1981 in San Francisco with Cliff as the original bassist. The group released their debut album, Scratch And Scream , in 1984, and broke up in 1985. However, in 2013, the band reunited and has been active since then with Hiller at the helm.
