Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder also called on Mick Fleetwood and Sammy Hagar for the album American Rock 'n' Roll.

Eagles guitarist Don Felder will release his new solo album, American Rock 'n Roll, on March 5th. To help him, he's enlisted a list of guests that includes Slash, Bob Weir, Chad Smith , and Joe Satriani .

“I wanted to invite as many people as possible to share the experience,” he told Rolling Stone . “I knew it had to be brilliant, lively, and fun, or it wouldn’t work. It had to be a labor of love, not an obligation.”

Slash plays on the title track, which traces the history of rock from Woodstock and Jimi Hendrix to Guns N' Roses and the present day. He plays precisely on the part of the song that mentions Guns N' Roses. The song begins with Mick Fleetwood on drums, but switches to Chad Smith as the story progresses.

The track “Rock You” is a duet between Sammy Hagar and Satriani on guitar. They were working on the song when Weir showed up at the studio. He went there and decided to record the vocals with the group.

Other songs include the acoustic track “The Sun” and the ballad “Falling In Love Again.” “This is the kind of music I couldn’t make if I used the same approach as the last album. There’s a lot more variety this time,” Felder added.
