Jim Morrison was immortalized as the singer and songwriter of The Doors , but the artist's talents were never limited to the world of music. Just days after the 50th anniversary of the star's death, a documentary with previously unseen content was announced with the mission of presenting him as a polymath.
The term is used to describe people whose knowledge is not limited to a single area of expertise. Developed by Jampol Artist Management Inc. in partnership with the artist's estate, the project does not yet have a title or release date, but it aims to explore Morrison's art in music as well as his work as a writer, poet, and filmmaker.
In an interview with Billboard , Jeff Jampol , CEO of Jampol Artist Management, explained that the musician was not just the "Dionysian rock star dressed in leather pants, the beautiful Greek god, singer, shaman and incredible artist," so this project will aim to "level the playing field and talk about these other aspects of Jim, which are not so well known, celebrated or discussed."
