During a live broadcast on Radio X , DJ Chris Moyles accidentally announced that the Foo Fighters have a new album about to be released.

The slip-up occurred during Moyles' morning show on February 7th. After playing the 2011 track "Walk," the DJ commented: "I love this song so much. 'Walk' by the Foo Fighters — They're releasing a new album in March and I'm really looking forward to it. (via NME )"

No further comments were made about the supposed album during the broadcast, but the excerpt quickly made its way online and caused a stir after being shared by the fan club FooFightersUK on Twitter.

After the mix-up, Chris Moyles commented on the slip-up live during the radio program and mentioned more than once that he didn't know how to proceed with the situation (via NME ): “I caused quite a stir. I'm in a very uncomfortable dead end and I don't know what to do. I ended up on another radio station's website!”

“I don’t know what to say without causing problems or confusing people. I don’t know what to say without sounding stupid… I don’t know what people want me to say,” he continued. “I think people want me to say, ‘Yes, I can’t say anything more, but I’m confirming that a new album will be released in March.’ I’m not going to say any of that.”

After getting tangled up with his comments, Moyles apologized specifically to Dave Grohl : “All I’m going to say is this: I can’t say anything more. Anyway, sorry Dave. I’m really sorry, Dave.”

The Foo Fighters have not yet commented on the situation. The band is returning to the stage and has tour dates announced for 2023 , including a stop in Brazil The Town festival , which takes place in September.
