Spiritbox: A metal revelation with aggressive vocals by Courtney LaPlante

The Canadian band emerged in 2016 and quickly established itself as one of the most innovative names in modern metal. Led by vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer , the group initially gained prominence with singles that circulated strongly on digital platforms. Global recognition came with the release of their debut album, Eternal Blue (2021), which reached significant positions on international charts and helped expand their popularity in the contemporary metal scene.

Spiritbox's discography also includes the EPs Rotoscope (2022) and The Fear of Fear (2023), as well as their second studio album Tsunami Sea , which topped the best-of-the-year lists of specialized media, reaching 2nd place on Wikimetal's list. Billboard 's Top Hard Rock Albums chart and featured the track "Soft Spine" – nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards , marking the band's third consecutive nomination in the category.

The sound blends metalcore, progressive metal, and atmospheric elements, combining heavy riffs with melodic moments and vocals that alternate between aggression and ethereal passages. On stage, Spiritbox has also been gaining ground on major tours and festivals. In 2024, they toured Brazil as the opening act for Bring Me The Horizon in São Paulo , delivering a setlist that highlighted tracks such as "Circle With Me," "Holy Roller," and "Jaded." The reception from the Brazilian audience led them to return for the highly anticipated opening show for Korn, solidifying Spiritbox as one of the leading names in the new generation of metal.

Seven Hours After Violet: A project by Shavo Odadjian, bassist of System of a Down

The band is a recent project by bassist Shavo Odadjian , known worldwide for being a member of System of a Down . Formed in 2024, it brings together musicians from different backgrounds, including vocalist Taylor Barber , guitarists Michael Montoya and Alejandro Aranda, and drummer Josh Johnson . The project quickly caught the public's attention for uniting well-known names from the heavy metal scene and for marking a new creative phase for Odadjian, who said he wanted to "do something super heavy, but melodic, and go back to my roots." Seven Hours After Violet has only one album, self-titled, released in 2024. The songs feature a sound that mixes modern metal, metalcore, and alternative influences, with the aim of exploring a more aggressive and contemporary sound.

In 2024, Seven Hours After Violet made their debut before a Brazilian audience with a performance at Knotfest Brasil 2024 , opening for Babymetal , both in São Paulo. During the show, they performed tracks from their debut album and drew attention for their energetic stage presence and Taylor Barber's intense vocals. Although the sets were short, one of the most talked-about moments of their Knotfest Brasil was when drummer John Dolmayan , also from System of a Down, joined them on stage to play "Prison Song." Their appearance at the festival marked one of the band's first major shows, and they promise a longer performance during their next visit to Brazil.
