Disaffection

Goiânia showing its weight. Disaffection in National Pride.

Daniel Dystyler: Starting another National Pride segment, Rafinha, and the band that's coming up, they're from Goiânia, called Disaffection, tell us a little bit about the band, Rafa.

Rafael Masini: It's a really good band. Our Wikimate Douglas Jason sent it to us, and he wrote that he really liked the band. It's a band that started in 2005 and still has the same lineup today; the same guys who founded the band are still there. It's a band based on 80s thrash metal, it's incredibly heavy, it's really cool. And the lyrics are about Christianity, about a better way of life… And something really cool, it's the first time we've played a band like this on Wikimetal, is that the guys themselves don't have any prejudice, they don't want to offend any other religion or philosophy. It's their way of making music, it's their way of putting their ideas into practice. Really cool, and the sound is truly amazing.

DD: That's right, I also thought it was really cool that it has a bit to do with our episode because it reminds me a little of Exodus from the 80s, so enough talking and let's listen to a little bit of "Mystery of God".

RM: We're back with that song, so Dani, did you like it?

DD: I really liked it, very cool. As I was saying before the song, the instrumental is very similar to Exodus from the 80s, very similar indeed, there's an Exodus influence on the band's sound. And obviously the messages are a little different, the lyrics are a little different, but the sound is very similar, isn't it, Rafa?

RM: Really, really cool.
