Dimmu Borgir, one of the most important metal bands in the world, returns to Brazil as a headliner for the Liberation Festival 2026.The exclusive Brazilian performance will take place on December 12th in São Paulo, at Vibra São Paulo, marking the festival's return after eight years. Tickets are already on sale through the Clube do Ingresso website.
The return to Brazil also coincides with an important moment in the band's trajectory. On May 22nd, Dimmu Borgir released the album Grand Serpent Rising. The work is the band's first studio album in eight years, since Eonian (2018), and brings together 13 tracks that revisit different phases of their history, with a greater focus on organic heaviness, the strength of the riffs, and the more focused use of orchestrations.
“I truly feel that we’ve surpassed ourselves musically on this album. It was a long and demanding process, but seeing how it all came together makes it extremely rewarding. Grand Serpent Rising carries echoes of every chapter of Dimmu Borgir’s legacy. I believe our fans will recognize this and find something that truly resonates,” stated vocalist Shagrath.
The Liberation Festival returns in 2026 after its last edition in 2018, which featured Kreator and Arch Enemy among the headliners. The 2017 edition was also a memorable one, with King Diamond performing the classic "Abigail" in its entirety, along with Lamb of God, Carcass , and Heaven Shall Burn.
