Jill Janus suffered from mental illness
Jill Janus , vocalist of the American band Huntress , died at the age of 43. According to the band's official Facebook page, Janus committed suicide last Tuesday, the 14th.
The news was delivered by her former bandmate, Casey Wood: “I’m in shock and can’t stop crying. My best friend and fellow singer has left this world. […] Rest in peace, my sister.”
The vocalist has always spoken openly about her struggles with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and alcoholism. In 2015, Janus was also diagnosed with cancer.
Huntress was formed in 2009 and has released three albums, the last of which, Static , was released in 2015.
