Details of Pink Floyd's new album

Gilmour and Mason talk about work

Pink Floyd today revealed details about their upcoming album, "The Endless River." Produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth, and Andy Jackson, the CD is scheduled for release on November 11th.

The new album features recordings by keyboardist and founding member of the band, Rick Wright, who passed away in 2008. David Gilmour commented on the new work: “The Endless River picks up where 1993’s Division Bell ends. We listened to 20 hours of the three of us (David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason) playing together and selected the songs we wanted to work on for the new album. With Rick’s passing, we felt these tracks needed to be worked on and made available as part of our repertoire.”

Drummer Nick Mason also spoke about the album: “The Endless River is a tribute to Rick. The album is a way of showing what he did and how his playing style was part of the heart of Pink Floyd.”
