Vocalist Deryck Whibley has denied being the new lead singer of Linkin Park .
Following rumors about his possible joining the band , the Sum 41 publicly denied those claims.
In a post on his Instagram he says: “I feel the need to dispel some current rumors. It has come to my attention that many people think I might be joining a band that is reuniting.”
"But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I'm not joining Oasis . Or Linkin Park. Or any other band like that."
He concluded by saying that he has his own plans to announce at the end of the week, but that he is excited to see what the bands will do.
Linkin Park reunion?
Last Saturday, the 24th, Linkin Park released a countdown that ends next Wednesday, the 28th, around 3 PM.
A few months ago, rumors that the band would be returning gained even more traction when Billboard reported that the group planned to go on tour next year .
Jay Gordon , vocalist of Orgy , stated: “It’s going to be difficult without Chester , but we’ll see. I heard they have a female vocalist now. That’s what I heard.”
After his statement spread, he posted on his Facebook page that it had been taken out of context.
Another factor that increases public curiosity is the fact that Mike Shinoda published a text on his website stating that he has "many exciting things planned for you."
Oasis announces return
Regarding the British group, they announced this Tuesday morning, the 27th, their return to the stage after 15 years.
With a tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland, the band will perform 14 shows during the months of July and August 2025.
