“MRI” is part of his first solo album, released this year.

The life of a touring musician comes with aches and pains, and in the new video for "MRI," Derek Smalls , bassist for Spinal Trap , explores the consequences of being on the road for 50 years.

Directed by Smalls, the video brings to life the backing vocals of CJ Vanston , the guitar of Dweezil Zappa , and the drums of Gregg Bissonette . The track is part of the musician's first solo album, Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing) , released in April of this year.

Under the name Derek Smalls, Harry Shearer makes his solo debut at age 70, because, according to him, he never felt ready to pursue another direction with his career.
