Deicide released, this Wednesday, the 14th, the single “Sever The Tongue”, the second from the band's upcoming album, Banished By Sin , which will be released on April 26th by Reigning Phoenix Music.

Maintaining the band's reputation for challenging religious conventions, the song arrives this Ash Wednesday accompanied by a controversial music video.

This release serves as a prelude to the highly anticipated album Banished By Sin , which proves the band's legacy and influence on the death metal scene, maintaining their ferocious sound and blasphemous lyrics.

Vocalist Glen Benton comments on his inspiration for the new album (via Blabbermouth ): “For several years I’ve been sitting in a dark corner. Some things happened in my life that shook me and changed me. I was inspired to write this new album, it was like pressing a button. I stopped chasing everyone else’s happiness a long time ago. The guy who started this is back! And it’s good to be back!”

Benton adds: “Musically, we’re back in the style of the 1990s. There are modern things in there too. It’s Deicide the way it should be.”
