Deftones shared a preview of the single “Genesis” on Monday the 14th, which will be released on Friday the 16th. The new track is part of the band Ohms , which arrives on the 25th.
Last October 21st, the band released the title track and confirmed the release date, cover art, and tracklist for the successor to Gore . Vocalist Chino Moreno spoke a bit about the band's new phase: “When you’ve made several albums with the same people, everyone needs to be engaged. We learned that the hard way. A perfect example is Core, when Stef [ Stephen Carpenter , guitarist] basically admitted, like, ‘I didn’t do anything on that album.’ That wasn’t because I didn’t want him – my favorite Deftones song ideas are the ones he led.”
