Today, the 18th, Deftones released their new single “Genesis,” accompanied by a music video. The track will be part of the band's new album, Ohms, which arrives next Friday, the 25th.
In the video, directed by Sebastian Kökow and with Clemente Ruiz directing the live performance, the band appears playing the album's opening track in a distorted manner, using shades of black, gray, and white, matching the aesthetic of the new album's cover.
“When you’ve made several albums with the same people, everyone needs to be engaged,” says vocalist Chino Moreno about the album. “We learned that the hard way. A perfect example is Core, when Stef [ Stephen Carpenter , guitarist] basically admitted, like, ‘I didn’t do anything on this album.’ That wasn’t because I didn’t want him – my favorite Deftones song ideas are the ones he led.”
