Deftones have been in the studio working on the successor to Gore (2016) for a while now, and Chino Moreno has revealed that the recording process is going well and the group plans to release the work in 2020.
Moreno spoke to NBC San Diego and revealed that he and his colleagues have been creating the album for almost a year. “We’re loving the process,” he said, “It’s been a really cool process. We work on some things together and then everyone goes home and comes back with new ideas.”
He also mentioned that they've been working on the lyrics for the past few months and the songs are already finished. "We've already recorded enough songs for a full album," he happily revealed. While there's no definitive release date yet, the album is expected to be released in the first half of the year, according to Moreno.
