Deftones album closer than ever? After a blackout on the band's social media, fans believe so.

In November 2019, vocalist Chino Moreno told NBC San Diego , "We've already recorded enough songs for a full album," and revealed that work on the new project had been underway for a year, and the creative process couldn't be going better .

The clues to the new release are based on the band's profile picture (a completely black image) on Facebook, which redirects the user directly to the band's website. The website has a pixelated image that becomes clear after some time, and in addition, it has a number in the URL: 0925, a possible correspondence to the date September 25th, a Friday, a classic day for releases.

The successor to Gore was scheduled for release in the first half of 2020; however, with the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems the band's new album had to be postponed along with so many others.
