To provide support to the victims of the wildfires that struck Southern California, Def Leppard released a cover of the classic "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King .

The funds raised from the song will be donated to FireAid, an initiative that works in emergency relief and disaster prevention.

Lead singer Joe Elliott commented on the charitable action through music, which fans can contribute to by either purchasing the album or simply listening on streaming platforms.

“We feel blessed to be able to dedicate this song and donate all royalties to the incredible heroes of LA who are helping those affected by the fires. There is no better song.”

Def Leppard guarantees assistance to victims.

In a post on the band's social media , the members commented on the initiative behind the rerecording.

Guitarist Phil Collen mentioned the purpose of the cover: "Our cover of 'Stand By Me' is a tribute to resilience, unity, and hope."

In addition to raising funds through music, drummer Rick Allen stated that the Raven Drum Foundation — Allen's non-profit organization — will donate five autographed guitars to benefit First Responders Resiliency Inc., which supports first responders.

Guitarist Vivian Campbell concluded the post by highlighting the sadness of witnessing such devastation in Los Angeles.

“It’s heartbreaking. I know all the affected neighbors and I know that many have lost their homes and livelihoods. Our thoughts remain with them as they begin to rebuild their lives and communities.”
