The news arrives on the eve of Def Leppard's North American tour in conjunction with Journey . The tour is scheduled to begin on June 6th at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

The track “Just Like 73” is a vibrant rock song that incorporates the typical sonic characteristics of Def Leppard. The band themselves shared on their Instagram : “'Just Like 73' is inspired by the Glam Rock beats of the 1970s.”

“It was a lot of fun doing the solo on 'Just Like 73',” Morello said in a press release. “I played 'Rock of Ages' in my college cover band almost 40 years ago, and it’s amazing to see Def Leppard still rocking stadiums with a new song that’s among their best.”

Phil Collen , guitarist for Def Leppard, also shared the inspiration behind the song: “When I saw David Bowie on TV between 1972 and 1973, everything I thought about music went from black and white to technicolor. Our song 'Just Like 73' represents that awakening.”
