Def Leppard has launched a new website with a countdown clock scheduled to expire on Thursday, March 17th, for some special announcement. Check out the website: diamondstarhalos.com

The site also features icons for each band member. Clicking on each one gives the visitor a short audio recording – delivered as a reading from a fortune teller – of the respective band member.

Fans online are already speculating that Diamond Star Halos is the name of a new Def Leppard album. An unverified report suggests that the band will debut the first single from their new LP when the countdown reaches zero.

The band had previously hinted that new music was on the way. Last June, lead singer Joe Elliott told Cleveland.com that the band was "ahead of the game" in terms of new material.

“You know, we’ve always said that before we kick everything away or kick the bucket, we have to try to be among the greats: Lennon-McCartney , Jagger-Richards , Ray Davies , Pete Townshend ,” the singer said at the time, noting that Def Leppard still aspired to be mentioned among the greatest rock artists.

“We probably never will, but we’ll never stop trying. We’re not interested in trying to be some kind of second-division thing. It’s like if someone couldn’t climb Mount Everest, if they were that desperate, they’d try again next year. That’s how we feel about what we do, so we’re going to try our best, again, and keep moving forward.”

Def Leppard is set to hit the road this year alongside Motley Crue , Poison , and Joan Jett on the highly anticipated Stadium Tour . The tour, which was originally announced in 2020 before being postponed several times due to the pandemic, is scheduled to begin on June 16.
