Def Leppard returns to Brazil alongside Mötley Crüe The World Tour to South American fans . Having only visited the country twice before, the band experienced a setback and reconciliation with their fans here – and promises one of the best shows of their career to the Brazilian audience.
Nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) perform career hits and timeless classics, but also bring to the audience tracks from their new album Diamond Star Halos , Def Leppard's first studio album in seven years.
The band's last visit to Brazil was in 2017, when Def Leppard headlined the Palco Mundo stage at Rock In Rio and also performed at the São Paulo Trip (see photos here ), in São Paulo, and at the Anfiteatro Beira Rio, in Porto Alegre.
This second visit by Def Leppard to Brazil was a great reconciliation for the band with the Brazilian audience after a fiasco 20 years ago. In 1997, the band debuted in Brazil under unfavorable circumstances: with shows announced for Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo as part of the tour promoting the album Slang, but the performances were a complete sales failure.
As UOL , only 250 people attended the show in Rio, at a venue with a capacity of 8,000 fans. In São Paulo, which had two dates, the second was canceled due to low demand.
But times have changed, and everything indicates that Def Leppard's third visit to Brazil will be the best yet. With a grand tour, the band will play in stadiums in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre.
The joint tour by Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe has already been a proven success with audiences in North America, where the bands have toured for the past few years and grossed over $100 million in 2018 alone. According to the production company Live Nation , that amount was surpassed in this year's shows, which marked the bands' return to the stage after the pandemic.
In Brazil, the groups will perform in São Paulo on March 7th at Allianz Parque, Curitiba on March 9th at Estádio Couto Pereira, and Porto Alegre on March 11th at Arena do Grêmio. Find out everything about tickets here and watch tour videos here to get ready.
