Def Leppard releases first album in 7 years; listen to 'Diamond Star Halos'

This is the first album since 1992 that does not feature compositions by guitarist Vivian Campbell.

This Friday, the 27th, Def Leppard releases their highly anticipated new studio album, Diamond Star Halos . This is the band's first album since 2015.

The album was recorded remotely due to the pandemic and contains a surprise: it's the first time since 1992 that guitarist Vivian Campbell hasn't contributed to the songwriting.

In an interview with Rock Pages, he said that he simply "wasn't ready" to handle the new work format, but that the rest of the band picked it up pretty quickly.

“They did everything very quickly. I wasn’t ready for the album, to be honest, but I don’t think it’s bad. The songs are great. There are 15 in total and they cover a wide range of musical styles. I think we did well. But I feel bad because, you know, I feel like I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t do my homework,” he lamented.
