Roger Glover , bassist for Deep Purple , revealed that the band will release a new album in 2026. The British band's most recent work is =1 , released in July 2024.

In an interview with Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk , Glover said that the group is working on new music. He also mentioned that in recent years, the band's schedule has been quite full with touring, and because of that, 2025 is being a "year of rest".

“We’re composing and everything. We’ll probably have an album next year. The last two or three years have been very busy. We haven’t stopped touring. It’s good to take a break. We did a show in Brazil in the middle of this year [ Best of Blues and Rock ]. Besides that, we also have some shows at the end of the year, but it’s not exactly a year of touring. It’s a year of rest,” he said [transcription via Blabbermouth ].

Roger also commented on the band's insistence on working on a new album, even after having released 23 albums previously. Furthermore, the musician responded that the idea is not to repeat things, but rather to find new ways of "being a band".

“That’s what we do, we compose music. So, even if there wasn’t a band, I’d still be doing it for my own enjoyment. It’s one of the things you do. The idea isn’t to try to repeat yourself, but to find new ways to be a hard rock band. And it seems we’ve managed to do that. I don’t know how, we just go out there and do it. It’s natural,” he concluded.
