Deep Purple released the teaser for the new music video for "Smoke On The Water" this Friday, the 9th. The band had already announced the release of a deluxe 50th-anniversary box set of the classic album Machine Head , which includes the group's biggest hit.
As a launch strategy, a new music video for "Smoke On The Water" will be released on March 1st.
The video, which gives a taste of what's to come, shows behind-the-scenes footage of the recording. Co-directors Dan Gibling and Luke McDonnell share with fans their inspirations for the new visual approach, which uses animation techniques, to what is not only one of Deep Purple's greatest songs, but also one of the greatest rock classics.
