Deep Purple released "Portable Door" last Tuesday, the 30th, the first single from their new album, =1 .

The track marked the return of the collaboration between the band and producer Bob Ezrin and can be heard at the end of this article.

Ezrin is also credited as a composer of the song, along with Ian Gillan , Ian Paice , Roger Glover , Don Airey , and Simon McBride .

The album, scheduled for release on July 19th via earMUSIC, is now available for pre-save .

According to a press release, the title =1 ( via NME ): “symbolizes the idea that, in an increasingly complex world, everything eventually simplifies until it becomes a single, unified essence. Everything equals one.”
