In an interview with Sirius XM, Deep Purple members Ian Gillan, Ian Paice, and Roger Glover were asked if they would like to reunite with Ritchie Blackmore, who recently returned to playing songs from his entire career.
Gillan said: “Personally, I wouldn’t like it. I get along very well with Ritchie currently, but I don’t think he’s playing very well these days. And for that reason alone, I don’t think it would work.”
Glover claimed he hadn't spoken to Blackmore in over twenty years. Paice, in turn, spoke about the guitarist's temperament: “I like going on stage every night with my four friends knowing they're all going to play every night. And it wasn't always like that when Ritchie was in the band, and I wouldn't want to go back to that. That's just the way he is, he's a very emotional guy (…) I want to go on stage and have fun, not leave feeling miserable. I don't want to go back to that.”
