Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice answered some fan questions in a video posted yesterday, the 1st, on his YouTube channel.
Amid questions about other rock bands, drumming, and recording, Paice offered advice to aspiring musicians, as requested by one of his fans. He said, “Just don’t expect anything more from your music than to enjoy it. That’s definitely why you pick up an instrument in the first place – whether it’s playing a guitar, typing a piano, or playing a drum set – it makes you happy.”.
If something else happens along the way, and it becomes more than just a hobby, enjoy it, respect it, but don't create expectations. If something persists, it will persist because you deserved it, and that only comes if you believe in what you are doing,” said the drummer. Golden advice, right?
Deep Purple is preparing to release their new album, Whoosh!, on August 7th, and recently released the music video for the single "Man Alive" .
