Dee Snider has spoken again about his decisionnot to perform any more shows with Twisted Sister.
The band was planning a reunion tour to celebrate five decades of their career, but the singer's health problems prevented it. However, on March 3rd, the group announced Sebastian Bach as their new vocalist for live performances.
Now, in an interview with The Jasta Show, Snider said he is not in immediate danger of death, but admitted that his vitality is not what it used to be. “I’m not going to die anytime soon. But I’m dealing with problems that, if I don’t solve them, could kill me. I have longevity, but I can’t keep doing the things I do and expect to enjoy that longevity, doing things the way I do them,” he commented [transcription via Whiplash].
However, another statement stands out: the singer's children's request that he not perform alongside Twisted Sister. The main reason given was that Dee "might end up killing himself" and "wouldn't be able to stay still on stage.".
“My children sat with me and asked me to stop or I would end up killing myself. Some were crying. They know what I'm like. I couldn't just stand still on stage. We even tried to create a situation with the band where I would have people accompanying me the whole time, but my own manager knew that wouldn't be enough,” he commented.
