Twisted Sister vocalist Dee Snider revealed today, via a post on Twitter, the return of Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd to AC/DC .
In response to a fan's question about whether any members of the classic AC/DC lineup were ill, Snider said:
“He died. Rest in peace, Malcolm Young . But the 4 surviving members got together WITH songs recorded by Malcolm when he was alive. Malcolm's nephew, Stevie Young, will replace him (he's done this before, a few times). It's the closest we'll get to the original AC/DC.”
In another post, when asked specifically about Brian Johnson's health, Snider replied, "I just saw Brian... He's fine.".
Behemoth vocalist Nergal , in an exclusive interview with Loudwire, also confirmed Brian Johnson's return:
“I know there’s a new AC/DC album with Malcolm Young. It’s coming. It’s going to be a bonus track on Rock or Bust . What do I expect? I expect nothing more and nothing less, just the AC/DC rhythm and Angus and Malcolm’s guitars. Don’t give me anything more than that. And yes, Brian Johnson is back in the band.”
In the video, the interviewer asks, "We're recording all of this, is that okay?" and Nergal confirms:
"Yes, you can record it. He's back in the band. If there are any legal issues arising from me saying this, I'll take responsibility.".
