The former Twister Sister member admits he thought Metallica wouldn't work out.
Dee Snider admitted that he didn't think Metallica would succeed after seeing an early show.
Twisted Sister vocalist , who recently released the album For The Love Of Metal , said in an interview, “Those sons of bitches deserve every dollar they made. They never sold out – until they made an alternative album, which I thought was great, but they kind of sold out. But up until then, they hadn't changed their sound at all, they just fought hard.”
He continued, “That’s a true story. We were on tour with Metallica, and I was at the side of the stage watching their show. I turned to my bass player and said, ‘These guys have a lot of heart, but they’re never going to amount to anything.’”
“Like I said, I’m brutally honest. I said it out loud. What a jerk! I didn’t mean to be against him. I just said, ‘they’re really heavy.’ But they made people accept how heavy they were, and that’s great about Metallica.”
