Twisted Sister vocalist Dee Snider has come to the defense of guitarist Tom Morello .
On Saturday the 6th, using his Twitter account, Snider commented on a discussion posted by Morello minutes earlier.
Famous for his firm stances, Dee Snider wrote:
"Don't you hate all this bullshit? I've had to prove myself countless times, again and again... and there are still people telling me to 'stay in my place.' I'll stay... wherever the hell I want! #WERENOTGONNATAKEIT !"
The guitarist from Rage Against The Machine had posted the phrase "Like shooting fish in a barrel" and an image of the argument that took place in December 2017.
In the discussion that can be seen in the original below Dee Snider's comment, someone comments ironically, making a political statement about Tom Morello:
"Another successful musician who instantly transforms into a political expert."
Morello responds by saying: “One doesn’t need to have a degree in political science from Harvard University to recognize the unethical and inhumane methods of this government. But well, I have a degree in political science from Harvard University, so I can confirm that.”
The 2017 discussion resurfaced amidst today's global political tension, fueled by the #BlackLivesMatter protests and anti-police violence movements, which also gave rock and metal musicians reasons to speak out.
Besides RATM, Tom Morello also played in Audioslave and Prophets of Rage, in addition to numerous collaborations with renowned artists such as Bruce Springsteen .
