Dee Snider has absolutely no interest in reuniting Twisted Sister . Currently promoting his upcoming solo album, Leave a Scar , after considering a definitive retirement from his music career, the vocalist explained his reasons for not wanting to return to the stage with the band that made him famous.

“[I’m] 100% committed to not getting back together. Now, let me explain: We’re friends. I did a show a few weeks ago, and [Mark] Mendoza Metal From The Inside podcast (via Blabbermouth ). “I talk to the guys all the time. I can show you my messages, we have a small group chat and we text each other all the time.”

The good relationship with his former bandmates is part of the reason Snider didn't want a reunion, as the goal of such a reunion would initially be to "fix the relationship." With the friendship restored, the scenario changed completely. "I wanted to do new and challenging things that I couldn't do with Twisted Sister. And my solo albums couldn't be done with the band," he explained. "As a solo artist, I have permission to change and evolve. Some things the fans liked, others they didn't. But I could do it, nobody questioned it.".

Even so, the vocalist sees some scenarios that could reunite the group on an exceptional basis, such as "charity songs" and television programs. "But doing a tour, 90 minutes, two hours on stage, I don't see that happening," he continued. "[Our manager] hasn't presented us with any offers, but I'm sure we've received some. But we haven't considered a reunion. No matter what they offer, we're not going to do it.".

The vocalist joined the band in 1976 and was responsible for changing the direction of Twisted Sister's sound, initially leaning towards glam metal, thanks to his compositions. The group disbanded in 1988, but reunited in the 2000s for concerts and the release of A Twisted Christmas (2008), their last studio album. Their farewell performance took place on November 12, 2016 .
