Meet the band Death Valley Stones, a blend of progressive rock and heavy metal

May 2019 marks the recording debut of the Brazilian band Death Valley Stones .

Formed by Fabiano Vênkoff, Libero Dietrich, and Pedro Alzaga , the band began its activities in 2013 in the city of Santo André, in the ABC Paulista region.

The EP is called The Regent and features “Trance,” a raw and sincere track that encapsulates the band's corrosive personality. “Pathetic” is pure sarcasm, with a rather scathing critique of social pressures as its backdrop. “Hollow” and “Manumission” spit the bitterness of life in life's face. And finally, “Existence,” which is as cruel as its name suggests, is a spectacle of despair in its most fervent performance.

The sound is a mix of 90s rock with progressive rock and heavy metal riffs. A furious cultural clash fueled by eccentric, somewhat rough, somewhat sweet, visceral vocals. With sharp lyrics, making good use of metaphor, but without losing the delight of the old "right hook". Rush, Nirvana, Primus, Pantera and Iron Maiden are some of the band's influences.
