Maynard James Keenan has received death threats, the band's drummer revealed.

Drummer Danny Carey revealed in an interview that vocalist Maynard James Keenan Fear Inoculum .

“I felt bad for him,” she said. “He told me he was receiving death threats from some idiots.”

Carey further explained the album's delay. "There's no other album that will sound like this Tool album. It's not good when it's done, it's done when it's good," she commented.

"It's not an easy process. I was prepared to leave the band and say, 'Well, if you guys aren't committed to this, I'm going to play with other people.'"

Bassist Justin Chancellor said he thought the band was going to break up. "Sometimes I thought we were almost there," he said. "We'd write an album, we'd have a few songs that were cool, and then we'd throw it all away and start over. It was devastating."

“Fear Inoculum” , the band’s first single in 13 years, was recently released.
