The thrash metal band Death Angel , which had announced a North American tour with WASP , has suddenly cancelled its participation. Initially, the band cited "unforeseen circumstances" and "scheduling conflicts," however, one particular reason has come to light.

Drummer Will Carroll reported the conflict on his social media, implying that there had been a "betrayal" within the band. Without naming names, Carroll implied that the decision to cancel the tour was not related to WASP, but rather to internal problems within Death Angel.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Will Carroll wrote (via Blabbermouth ):

“Now that the tour has been cancelled, I have plenty of free time for the rest of the year. Instead of falling further into depression (which really doesn’t suit me), I plan to keep busy with the drums. Rob Cavestany and I are continuing to work on new music. NO ONE can stop this.”

He goes on to talk about how interested he is in participating in other projects and his appreciation for making recordings. “Shows and tours are also possibilities. So, if you're interested in working together, send me a direct message or, if you have my number, contact me directly.”

"Please don't ask me why we're not on the WASP tour in the comments below. I think it's pretty obvious..." the drummer concluded.

The possible reason

In response to a comment by Rick Hunolt , Exodus guitarist , on his post, Will agreed that the whole situation is a mess and said that "the word betrayal comes to mind" and that he knew there would be problems, but not immediately.

Fans, in turn, quickly turned their attention to vocalist Mark Osegueda , who, in addition to being a member of Death Angel, is also part of the solo band of Kerry King , guitarist of Slayer . The coincidence of Kerry King's shows in Mexico, which directly conflicted with the canceled tour, further fueled speculation.

The vocalist had admitted on a podcast that he had to hide his involvement in King's project from his bandmates for a long time, which generated even more tension and distrust within the group.
