Mixing genres and creating completely innovative sounds – that's how the Californian quintet Deafheaven works on creating their albums. On the road since 2010, the band, known for their acclaimed album Sunbather, a masterpiece of the shoegaze , returned to Brazil to promote their latest album Infinity Granite , released in 2021.

The show took place at Fabrique, a venue now known for hosting metal bands and more contemporary heavy sounds like Daughters and SHAME . Despite the rain and a line that snaked around the corner, the place was packed and immediately began to vibrate with the band Terraplana , who, despite having released their first album at the beginning of this month, opened the night with a communicative and consistent show.

The main attraction of the night, however, made the floor and ceiling of Fabrique vibrate. The show began with an interlude by Angelo Badalamenti (who composed the soundtrack for Twin Peaks , the acclaimed series by David Lynch ), which, in the contrast between peace and chaos, blended with George Clark and soon had the audience headbanging from the first track to the last.

The show, which was dense and full of guitar riffs from beginning to end, featured great hits from the band's discography, from "In Blur" and "Grand Mass of Color," grandiose singles from the band's latest album, to " Dream House" (the last track of the show, closing Sunday night with the melodic noise that establishes Deafheaven as one of the greatest black/post-metal bands of our generation).
