According to the results of an autopsy obtained by TMZ , Dead Kennedys drummer DH Peligro died from a drug overdose.
According to the autopsy, Peligro died due to the “combined effects of fentanyl and heroin.” At the time of his death, he also had non-small cell lung cancer, one of the two main types of lung cancer.
The Dead Kennedys drummer died on October 28, 2022, at the age of 63. At the time, the cause of death was reported as head trauma following an accidental fall. However, the autopsy, allegedly obtained by TMZ , shows no evidence of traumatic injuries.
Peligro had been with the Dead Kennedys since 1981, when he made his debut on the EP In God We Trust . After the band's breakup in 1986, he briefly played drums for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, shortly after drummer Jack Irons left. He returned to the Dead Kennedys in 2001.
