David Lee Roth has cancelled his farewell tour in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
When the first two shows of the tour were canceled, the musician's team released a statement saying that, due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in the United States and out of concern for fans and the team, the performances had to be canceled.
The musician was scheduled to perform on December 31, 2021, and January 1, 2022, as well as on January 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22. Tickets for the first dates were sold out.
Last Monday, December 3rd, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak posted on social media that the state had recorded an "alarming number" of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations during the holiday season. He also reinforced the importance of getting vaccinated against the virus to residents.
The musician announced in October that these would be his farewell shows , but said he wouldn't explain his decision, mysteriously commenting that "the explanation is in a safe."
