The songs are expected to be on David Hasselhoff's next album
David Hasselhoff told the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur that he is recording "some heavy metal songs." These will be on the next album by the 66-year-old actor known for Baywatch and Knight Rider .
“Why not? I don’t have a title for the album yet, but it should be Everything is Allowed . I do everything. Because I can. Because I want to,” said Hasselhoff.
He was a successful singer in Germany and Austria during the 1980s. In 1985, his debut album, Night Rocker, reached number 1 on the local charts. His second and third albums, Lovin' Feelings and Looking For Freedom , reached the top 5 in West Germany. “Looking For Freedom” was a hit seen as a pro-unity song for both sides of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.
Even though he is of German descent, it wasn't his ethnicity that appealed to the country. "I think Germans like his Americanism," said Hanna Pilarczyk , a culture writer for Der Spiegel . "Besides, his music is very simple and easy to clap along to. Germans like to clap along to simple rhythms."
