David Gilmour , former vocalist and guitarist of Pink Floyd , announced last Wednesday, the 24th, the release of a new album. Luck and Strange will be available on streaming platforms on September 6th via Sony Music , and its first track, "The Piper's Call," has already been released. The music video for the single can be seen below.
The album features nine tracks produced by Charlie Andrew — known for previous work with Alt-J and Wolf Alice — one of which is a cover of the song "Between the Points" by the British group The Montgolfier Brothers . Most of the songs were composed by Polly Sampson , Gilmour's wife.
One of the main highlights of Luck and Strange will be its title track. The song features the participation of former Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright , who passed away in 2008. By reusing a 2007 recording, made during an impromptu session at Gilmour's house, the musician pays homage to this iconic member of the band.
