Musician cites Kiko Loureiro as an influence.
In an interview with "The Classic Metal Show," Megadeth bassist David Ellefson spoke about the band's latest album, "Dystopia," released last year. Ellefson praised the differences the album brought to Megadeth's career, citing Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro as one of the good new additions:
“I think in many ways “Dystopia” is the best album Megadeth has ever made. You know, the production is very strong, the riffs are incredibly complex, and there’s a lot of melody, like Dystopia, for example, the title track. And there are also songs like Fatal Illusion and Death From Within, these songs are very complex. And I think there are even things that take Megadeth to a place they’ve never been before, like Poisonous Shadows (…) There’s a lot that’s different. And of course, Kiko [Loureiro, guitarist] , it’s very clear what Kiko brought to us.”
