David Ellefson: "The day I stop learning, I stop growing."

David Ellefson spoke about his Basstory

Megadeth bassist David Ellefson spoke to Top Guitar Basstory tour .

According to him, the motivation behind the tour is that "it's important to keep the music alive." Ellefson explained, "I know that many of our fans grow up wanting to play. When I was young, Kiss made me want to play. They made it appealing. It was a way for me to escape reality. Music is my tribe."

Ellefson also said that, as a professional, he is always looking to learn new things. “When you start out, you immediately want to play Pantera , Metallica , and Iron Maiden . I understand, I was like that too. But you have to study,” he said.

“'What are the new things I can learn to keep myself updated?' Doing Basstory , for me, is almost like studying. Because, as much as I'm brought here as an expert, I love asking questions to the audience. They bring things that make me think. I need to be a student too. I've been doing this for over 40 years. I still need to be a student. The day I stop learning is the day I stop growing,” he concluded.
