David Ellefson speaks out about his dismissal from Megadeth: "False allegations"

Former bassist of the band was dismissed after sex scandal with young woman.

David Ellefson , former bassist of Megadeth , spoke out for the first time after being fired from the band , a decision announced to the public this Monday, the 24th.

Ellefson 's departure came amid a sex scandal caused by the leak of explicit videos exchanged between the bassist and a young woman in an extramarital affair. On social media , accusations circulated that the relationship occurred before the girl reached the age of majority, constituting a case of corruption of minors, something that the musician and the young woman herself, currently 19 years old, have publicly denied.

In a statement sent to Rolling Stone , the musician reiterated his innocence of the accusations and briefly mentioned his former bandmates. “Recently, a very private video was illegally posted online and false allegations were made against me. The actions in the video were consensual between two adults and were recorded without my knowledge,” he stated.

“I am working with the Scottsdale Police Department to investigate the revenge porn allegations against the person who posted this video. In addition, my lawyers are preparing a defamation lawsuit against this person. This person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” he continued. “I am taking this time to be with my family. I wish my bandmates the best on their upcoming tour.”
