During an interview on the Decibel Geek , Megadeth bassist David Ellefson said that the band plans to release new music in 2021.

“I’m sure that in 2021 we’ll have new Megadeth music in some form – hopefully on a new album, because then we can go on tour,” he said. “That’s what we’re hoping will happen.”

Ellefson, however, did not specify how the band's creative process is going: "That's all I can say for now – and only because nothing is finalized yet, it's difficult to talk about something that's still happening.".
