David Ellefson Megadeth bassist , has once again spoken about his relationship with Dave Mustaine . According to the musician, "external forces" were responsible for distancing him from the band's leader.

In an interview on Today's Boondoggl , he said [transcription via Blabbermouth ]: “It’s never really just me and Dave. If it were up to me and him, we’d probably be playing together. But there are always outside influences, advisors and all that nonsense. He has his own band now. I’m not in it, so I don’t want to break up his group.”

David Ellefson also responded that he would accept participating in Megadeth's farewell tour if his relationship with Dave Mustaine was good: “Assuming there's a friendly atmosphere, which I'm sure there would be, why wouldn't I accept? Do you understand what I mean? Megadeth was also my band. It's my life's work too.”
