David Ellefson: "It's great to be writing for the new Megadeth album"

The band will record the new album in 2018

Megadeth bassist David Ellefson confirmed on The Right To Rock that the band has begun writing songs for their new album.

The successor to Dystopia doesn't yet have a release date, but Ellefson reveals that after their South American tour, which included shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro , the band will return to the studio.

“We are putting together some ideas and composing some songs (…) After South America we will take a break until the New Year. We are discussing doing some shows in 2018, but we will spend most of the year making the new album.”

The album will be the first with drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who joined the band more than a year ago. “It’s great to start thinking about new music, especially with this lineup in mind. What Dirk, Kiko [Loureiro] and I can do and create music with this in mind is incredible ,” he says.
