David Ellefson Dave Mustaine 's decision to remove all the bass lines he had recorded for the Megadeth album .

The news of the complete exclusion of Ellefson's work from the album The Sick, The Dying And The Dead reached the public shortly after the bassist's dismissal . "I don't think they needed to do that. I asked them not to. But they did, it was the path they chose," the bassist commented in an interview with The Metal Voice , as transcribed by Blabbermouth .

Without going into details about the negotiation and how he was informed about the removal of his work from the band's new project, Ellefson made a point of reaffirming his cordial relationship with his Megadeth colleagues. “Look, I don’t have any problem with him [Mustaine] or the rest of them – believe it or not. People might find it hard to believe that,” he continued. “I really don’t [have anything against them].”

Before the sex scandal involving a young woman and the band's dismissal, Ellefson expressed pride in the result of the album's recordings. "We could have released [the album] as an instrumental CD and it would have been a great progressive metal record. It was a pleasure to listen to," he said in April of this year .
