Mustaine says fracture was severe

Megadeth has cancelled the last two shows of its European tour after bassist David Ellefson suffered a severe foot fracture.

The incident happened shortly before the band's performance at the Rockmaraton festival in Hungary. Dave Mustaine went on stage to explain the cancellation of the show to the fans:

“I have bad news for you. David Ellefson fell and hurt himself. He had to go to the hospital and is unable to play. We'll think about when we can reschedule and come back to play for you. It's really with a heavy heart that we have to do this, but he can't play. He can't. Keep your tickets. We'll come back and we'll make it up to you. You know David Ellefson. He would play if he could. We love you very much.”

On July 30th, Megadeth begins its South American tour, and it has not yet been clarified whether Ellefson's fracture will affect the dates. The band arrives in Brazil in August. Check dates and locations .
