In an interview with an Argentinian radio station, Disturbed vocalist David Draiman spoke about the Wacken Open Air show featuring a hologram of Ronnie James Dio. According to Draiman, the performance wasn't a good idea
"It makes me sad. I'm always happy to hear any music from someone who's left us, someone we've lost. But I don't know. The hologram, for me, is almost like not letting the dead be dead. And… I don't know, it seems strange to me. It doesn't seem different from… Is there a difference between a hologram and a guy dressed as Ronnie James Dio and doing this? You know what I mean?"
Ronnie was Ronnie, and he was the best in the whole world. It doesn't matter if it's Ronnie James Dio or Michael Jackson or whoever, it just seems like, you know? Respect the legacy. And I personally… I don't know. It bothers me. Maybe it's because I love Ronnie so much and revere him for his vocal ability… So, I don't know. It bothers me.”.
