David Draiman , from Disturbed , was met with loud boos from the audience during his appearance at Back To The Beginning , Black Sabbath's farewell show, last Saturday, the 5th.

The Disturbed vocalist was part of Tom Morello 's All Stars at Back To The Beginning , singing "Shot In The Dark" (an Ozzy Osbourne cover) and "Sweet Leaf" (a Black Sabbath cover), and was met with a significant amount of booing as soon as he appeared on stage. The vocalist performed alongside Scott Ian ( Anthrax ), Nuno Bettencourt ( Extreme ), David Ellefson (ex- Megadeth ), Mike Bordin ( Faith No More , ex- Ozzy Osbourne ), and Adam Wakeman ( Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath ).

David Draiman was surprised by the audience's reaction. However, the booing is likely attributed to the fact that David Draiman  autographed bombs that were sent to Israel last year. The Disturbed vocalist, who is Jewish, has been an outspoken supporter of Israel.

Previously, he called Roger Waters a "monster" and "anti-Semite to the core," and declared in 2022 that he "doesn't give a damn" if Waters alienated people with his pro-Israel stance. Recently, he criticized Green Day after the band changed the lyrics of the song "Palestine" during their recent Coachella performance.

David Draiman's response

Immediately after the booing, David used his account on the social network X to clarify what happened [via NME ]::

"Part of the #backtothebeginning live stream celebrating the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. As you can see… I wasn't 'booed off the stage' as so many people in the press and, CERTAINLY, the #FreePalestine crowd want you to believe."

“Yes, there were some boos when I left, but I came to pay homage to my teachers, my idols, to the mighty Black Sabbath, and I wasn’t going to let some idiots who hate Jews stop me. The goal is to feed their narrative, generate clicks, and incite hatred against Jews.”

The Disturbed vocalist continued:

“There’s even a banner circulating that added boos to the performance just to add fuel to the fire. Pathetic. The live stream shows the truth. Both songs were very well received. However, you wouldn’t know that from the media, which is eager to roast marshmallows near this bullshit story that’s a garbage dump. Oh well. Still here.”

“I’m still going back to the UK in the fall for what promises to be a VERY successful season, judging by the ticket sales. And I AM STILL A FIERCELY PRO-ISRAEL JEW. I will ALWAYS stand up for my people and will not be deterred, intimidated or ashamed to shake the masses’ asses. Put that in your pipes and smoke.”
