David Coverdale undergoes surgery and thanks healthcare professionals and fans

"Have a blessed day/night wherever you are, know that you are loved," he wrote in a tweet

In March of this year, before the pandemic gained momentum, Whitesake announced that they would be canceling their tour with Sammy Hagar & The Circle and Night Ranger due to a health problem affecting David Coverdale.

Now, the musician has taken to social media to tell fans that he finally had the surgery he needed and is recovering. The vocalist needed surgery because he had a bilateral iniguinal hernia, a condition in which tissues from inside the abdomen protrude through a weak point in the abdominal muscle wall in the inguinal region (groin).

In the tweet, Coverdale said he was able to have the surgery at a hospital in his hometown of Reno, Nevada. In May, the facility was limiting medical procedures due to the pandemic and has been gradually resuming operations in recent weeks.

“Finally!!! I managed to have the hernia surgery!!!”, he wrote last Tuesday, the 3rd, on Twitter, “1,000 thanks for ALL the caring, loving & incredible professionals at Renown [hospital] for taking such good care of me… & to YOU, my beautiful ones… have a blessed day/night Wherever You Are, Know That You Are Loved. Stay Safe & Well!!!”
